TLBC doesn't just cater to Torontonians – our patients come from all over the country and beyond to have their laparoscopic banding procedure performed in our clinic.

Why Toronto?

Most countries and provinces have strict eligibility requirements for adjustable gastric banding. Sometimes, it isn’t an option because of extraordinary cost or specific physical requirements. TLBC reviews each inquiry on a case by case basis, and we’re able to accommodate a much wider range of patients than clinics in other cities.

Also, unlike in other countries, Health Canada has approved multiple adjustable gastric bands. Dr. Yau is one of very few surgeons certified to use more than just one band, and at TLBC, he chooses the band that best suits your situation.

It’s easy to be a part of the TLBC community, even if you can’t make it to the Centre. We offer telephone consultations, free of charge. And all of our support group meetings are accessible by conference call, so you can take part from long-distance. Our staff will always be here for you, even when you can’t be.

Fill Adjustments for Out-of-Towners

While we perform band adjustments at the clinic, we can also provide you with a Fill Adjustment DVD and instruction sheet to give to your family physician. This will provide your doctor with all of the information they will need to perform adjustments on your band, saving you the trouble of getting back to TLBC. We want the band to work for you anywhere, and everywhere.
